I named the blog section of simply katricia, thoughts. We all have thoughts. Mine speak clearer than the words that actually come from my lips. While in my own thoughts, I am starting to really examine what I truly like and don’t like about myself, and those around me through this portal of writing. These highlights create blog posts such as this one for your entertainment and my release of emotion.

Upgrade Your Deodorant with Saige and Ivy
With illness and ultimately the death of my last grandparent, I started to review my own beauty regimens and the contents that I use on a daily basis. Switching toothpastes, deodorants, moisturizers and of course hair products. Some aren’t as easy to transition to (love my Colgate) but if my grandmother could use baking soda as a deodorant for decades, I figured I could look into a more healthy option for myself. I received Saige and Ivy in a self-care subscription box and was hooked.
Shopping While Black
Shopping while black brings about more anxiety for me than being behind the wheel of a car. Yes, I don’t drive – that’s a story for another day. The other day, I went into the local beauty supply store and walked around the aisles until I saw what I was looking for. A minute too long in the aisle, I was greeted by one of the workers asking if I needed help. I did not because, as I mentioned, I found what I needed but, something else caught my eye and I was reading the label when I was rudely interrupted.
I’m a Brand Ambassador for Saige and Ivy
I almost did not become an ambassador for Saige and Ivy. After seeing the Instagram post looking for representatives for the brand, I told myself that I clearly did not have the criteria that they were looking for. As a returning blogger, my social stats were not what the brand owner desired, but with the encouragement from my friends, I applied anyway.
