25 Halloween Movies to Watch with your Family

Sitting here with my family, one is on Instagram and the other is watching YouTube stories, so much for watching a Halloween movie on Freeform tv binge with the family.  Kids today have so many options for entertainment, that sitting and watching old Halloween movies are far from their interest, although it can be a fun fall activity.  Me, on the other hand, I can watch these classics all day and night.  Here are a few movies that I enjoy watching during the Halloween time of the year.

Halloween Movies to watch:

• Hocus Pocus (1993) Rated PG – After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers to get rid of them once and for all.

• The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) Rated PG – The king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept.

• Coraline (2009) Rated PG – An adventurous 11-year-old girl finds an alternate universe that is a strange version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.

• It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (1966) Rated G – Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin while the Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween.

• Casper the Friendly Ghost (1995) Rated PG – A paranormal expert and his daughter stay in an abandoned house haunted by three mischievous ghosts and one friendly one.

• The Addam’s Family (1991) Rated PG-13 – The film focuses on a bizarre, macabre, aristocratic family who reconnect with who they believe to be a long-lost relative, Gomez’s brother, Fester Addams, who is actually the adopted son of a con artist intending to swindle the Addams clan out of their vast wealth and fortune.

• The Haunted Mansion (2003) Rated PG – A realtor and his wife and children are summoned to a mansion, which they soon discover is haunted, and while they attempt to escape, he learns an important lesson about the family he has neglected.

• Hotel Transylvania (2012) Rated PG – Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teenaged daughter.

• Halloween town (1998) Rated TV-G – After learning she is a witch, a girl helps save a town full of other supernatural creatures.

• Halloween town II (2001) Rated PG – The Cromwell clan split their time between the real world and “Halloween town”, but the son of an old rival threatens to make the latter “real” and the real world a place of monsters.
