C.R.E.A.M. Cash Rules Everything Around ‘Merica

merica CREAM

In the mid 90’s hip hop artists, WuTang defined the acronym for C.R.E.A.M. – cash rules everything around me, get the money, dolla, dolla bills y’all!  Fast forward to almost 30 years later, ‘Merica is showing us more than ever that if you don’t have money, you will forever be at the bottom of the totem pole.

At this present time, whether you are a Democrat, Liberal or Republican, the country is in a federal workers government shutdown.  The partial government shutdown started on December 22, 2018, it is now the middle of January 2019 and ‘Merica is still in this government shutdown.  One of the richest men in the world, who happens to be the President, has now bullied ‘Merica into giving him what he wants and if he doesn’t get it, he’ll hold their money.

How long will this go on and what will be the sacrifice that Federal employees and their families will have to endure while it does continue?

For the longest time, the poor people of ‘Merica realized that without cash, you could possibly be in tough situations when it comes to not having enough to buy food for your children or a roof over your head for your family. Ladies and gents, we are slowly returning back to those times.  In the 1990’s under Former President Clinton, the government was shutdown over disputes over healthcare and education.

Unlike in those times, there could be some difficulties to apply for certain resources to help you out because, it’s Federal Workers who are in need of assistance!  With a W2 from the previous year, an employee without a paycheck, would have to prove to an agency why you are not able to afford your rent, mortgage, meanwhile, you still report to work.  It has to be nerve wrecking for so many employees, especially those that rely on those checks week to week.  Once the shutdown is lifted, and eligible employees receive back pay, can you imagine the amount of taxes that will be taken? Let’s not even imagine those that are mandated to pay child support from their payroll deductions, retirement deductions, pension loans, student loans, tuition etc…how many businesses will be forgiving?

Do you know how many agencies are affected by this government shutdown and what that means to the people of ‘Merica?

Due to the hissy fit that the President is having with Congress over the building of a wall, the government is partially shutdown.  Partially, meaning at this time, all agencies are not closed.  I will not breathe existence into the idea of a full government shutdown – that may cripple the only country many of us know it to be.

So since the country is in a shutdown, the following agencies are some of the many that are affected:

  • Homeland Security – are we not in this problem because of a wall? So I’m quite confused how there is a shutdown where an agency responsible for keeping our current borders safe has employees calling out sick because they will not get a check either way.

  • Department of Justice, State and Treasury  – “The Department’s mission is to enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.”  –

Do I insert a laugh emoji here? I think the mission needs to be re-evaluated and put into effect immediately, starting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

  • The Food and Drug Administration – in recent months, we have not been able to eat lettuce ya’ll! Who will tell us what food is safe to eat and what has been contaminated and should be discarded?

  • National Parks and Capital Museums – many of these parks are well groomed thanks to the employees that work there.  Although the parks may not all be closed, the lack of employee presence may be noticed by the overflow of garbage.

As the weeks turn into almost a month where Federal workers continue to do days of work for free, ‘Merica’s President pounds his hand on the desk in frustration.  This ladies and gents is all due to a wall to keep the ‘drug dealers, rapists, criminals’ from Mexico from walking into United States. I’m not the smartest individual when it comes to foreign policy, but folks that did or didn’t vote needs to open their minds and mouths to say how are these walking families, bringing all of these criminal resources into America?

With no means of transportation, men and women only looking for a better existence in life for their families are NOT able to have the resources to fit the description of all those individuals he believes he is protecting ‘Merica from. I really hope this bully does not create a certain fear in the people where the country divides even more than it already had.

UPDATE:  As of January 17, 2018 the decision made by the President of the United States will now affect the poor and middle class that receives resources for housing and food. Two essential items for every human being whether you are a billionaire or collecting cans and bottles in the trash. As of March 1st, New York City residents who are receiving benefits for food or housing will have to find other means to fund their rent and food for their families.

THIS IS ‘MERICA
