So in my time since returning natural, it’s been seven years in June, I’ve used different types of moisturizing shampoos for my natural hair. Most products I’ve either received in a monthly subscription box or in a swag bag from one of the many events I would attend in New York. For those of you not familiar with knowing which shampoo to purchase for your hair, you must first define what you want the shampoo to do.
When I visited my cousins, was the first time I saw someone use food to apply to their hair – eggs and mayonnaise. I thought that was ridiculous and wouldn’t dare use up my mother’s food for my hair.
Triggers for eczema flare ups can be a number of factors and not limited to allergens, stress, climate, perfumes, cleaning products, the air (lol) and hormones. We are mindful that our little girl is transitioning to a young lady and with that realization, hormones and attitude (UGH!!) comes with the irritation. <— see what I did there? lol
But what about her scalp though?
Dandruff is essentially scalp flaking caused by inflammation. The dryness of her scalp is a connection to the eczema she has over her whole body. Unlike her elbows and knees that can be covered, her scalp is exposed and can be embarrassing as she becomes older.
