This will be my year. We repeat it, an affirmation, a determination to control all that the year will bring. There is 24 hours in one day, however, we’re supposed to be sleeping at least eight of them. As new moms, catching a cat nap during the day is even encouraged. Moving around trying to do everything and have everything perfect, is not ideal. The mind and body has gone through an ordeal, you have to give it time to recuperate while taking care of a new person. The laundry will get done. The dishes aren’t going anywhere.

If you’ve ever engaged in conversation with me, you’d know that I enjoy the smell of peppermint so much that I chew peppermint gum, keep starlights in my pocketbook and desk (reminder that I need to refill my bowl), and use a Vick’s Nasal Inhaler during the day and at night to relax my mind.
When I’m low on my Vick’s, I’ll drop a few drops of peppermint or eucalyptus essential oils in my air diffuser and continue to get similar calming effects.
